We have the privilege of caring for many children, adults, and their families in the comfort of their own home and through our hospice services, Little Havens and Fair Havens.
Like many people, they had preconceptions of what hospice care meant. They have agreed to tell their story to you in the hope that it sheds some light on the reality of how hospice care can benefit families in the toughest of times, and overcome fears of what hospices are like.
A family who made a donation to Little Havens in memory of their loving Grandparents, say they know how much the gift will mean to Little Havens.
"I've visited various hospitals, private settings and care homes and I could never imagine a care environment being like this. "
"I had heart palpitations on the drive to the hospice, but as soon as we arrived I knew it would be a fantastic experience for us."
"When you live with the daily fear that you’ll one day lose them, it’s impossible to not feel completely overwhelmed by the risks that Covid poses."
"Little Havens is keeping in touch with us over the phone. It's reassuring that they're there if we need them."
"Everything Phoenix needs is here; I never have any worries.”
“Words can’t explain how grateful we are for Little Havens.”
“We actually forgot that Harry was even unwell "
“We’d be devastated if the hospice didn’t exist.”
