When there is no cure, Havens Hospices can provide the care you need.
For patients wanting help to control their symptoms or medication, or need care at the end of their life, they can be referred to the In-Patient Unit for support. A specialist nurse-led team, supported by medical consultants, will care for the patient to make them as comfortable as possible.
Facilities at Fair Havens include 16 In Patient bedrooms, Day Hospice including a physiotherapy gym and therapy rooms, The Sanctuary – a place for reflection or prayer, a Bistro for families to have a meal or grab a snack and family accommodation.
Initial contact may be made either by a patient or carer, or any professional directly involved in the patient’s care. Anyone making a referral must have the consent of the patient.
No. All our care is provided free of charge thanks to the generosity of our supporters who make kind donations through fundraising events, gifts in wills and our lottery.
Fair Havens is part of Havens Hospices, which includes Little Havens and The J’s – community hospice care across Essex. If you are aged between 16-40, The J’s may be able to offer support in your own home. Please contact us or speak to your GP or Palliative Care Nurse about how to make a referral.
