We have the privilege of caring for many children, adults, and their families in the comfort of their own home and through our hospice services, Little Havens and Fair Havens.
Like many people, they had preconceptions of what hospice care meant. They have agreed to tell their story to you in the hope that it sheds some light on the reality of how hospice care can benefit families in the toughest of times, and overcome fears of what hospices are like.
“Little Havens has made it possible for Eli to experience things he might otherwise miss out on.”
"Having a child with very complex needs you can feel like you are standing on the outside looking in."
"I had the best time ever! It was so much fun and I made great new friends. I can’t wait until I can stay again. When can I come again?!”
"Fair Havens Hospice at Home has made such a difference to my life, as I’m now able to do more things on my own.”
"It took just a couple of hours to realise how wonderful the care of Fair Havens would be."
"The entire time I've spent at Fair Havens, I've felt comfortable, secure and had the attention to my care that I needed"
“I have a great relationship with my Havens Hospices carer Amanda. We spend our time together chatting, doing art and playing games."
"Wheeling into the beautiful environment of the new Fair Havens Hospice, an immediate sense of calm came over me.”
"Fulvio only spent a week at Fair Havens, but that was what he needed. They restored his trust and faith in asking for help."
“Little Havens takes some of the worries off me, they look after Edward doing all of his medical needs as well as making sure he is having fun."
"Little Havens understand Elijah's needs, they're enthusiastic to helping us get the best out of his life."
A family who made a donation to Little Havens in memory of their loving Grandparents, say they know how much the gift will mean to Little Havens.
