We have the privilege of caring for many children, adults, and their families in the comfort of their own home and through our hospice services, Little Havens and Fair Havens.
Like many people, they had preconceptions of what hospice care meant. They have agreed to tell their story to you in the hope that it sheds some light on the reality of how hospice care can benefit families in the toughest of times, and overcome fears of what hospices are like.
"Fulvio only spent a week at Fair Havens, but that was what he needed. They restored his trust and faith in asking for help."
"When I was placed on the bed at Fair Havens, I truly felt as if a weight had been lifted. I was comfortable straight away."
"I've visited various hospitals, private settings and care homes and I could never imagine a care environment being like this. "
"Since I've been here, it's totally different to what I expected. Death does happen, but there's so much more to this type of care."
"If you have any doubt about making a donation to Havens Hospices, please know the huge difference they have made to my life."
"Nothing is too much trouble. Even though they have to wear masks and aprons, they're doing it with a smile on their faces."
“Everyone’s perception initially about hospices is, I think, that you go there to die but it’s not that at all."
"Fair Havens is so different to anywhere else I’ve experienced. There is always someone on hand to help, care and support me and my family.”
