The route is a single out-and-back loop and follows tarmac roads and footpaths. The course has been accurately measured and carries a certificate of course accuracy. The race holds a UK Athletics licence. Licence Number: 15/383
The first three miles of the race are in and around the city centre, then runners will enter Central Park before heading out to the quiet and scenic country lanes. Whilst there will be some road closures in operation, they are not in force throughout the entire route and runners should exercise great care at all times. The race will be well marshalled but extra care must be taken when running on open roads. The route is gently undulating.
Please note that after leaving Central Park the route will be along open roads that are not closed to traffic, hence why headphones are not permitted at this event.
