Little Havens, the local charity that provides specialist care and support for babies, children, and young people living with complex or incurable conditions throughout Essex, is hosting an exclusive networking session for health, social, and education professionals.
The sessions will look at the perinatal pathway, support for families of babies, and the benefits of early referrals and support for babies in Neonatal Intensive Care Units. It is an ideal opportunity for professionals involved in perinatal care, maternity services, and neonatal support to learn about Little Havens and the support they offer families.
The free event on Wednesday, 5th November, from 9:00 am to 11:30 am in Thundersley will include a tour of the hospice, a chance to hear firsthand from families who have received their care, and an opportunity to network.
Emma Simpson, Head of Children and Young People’s Services, says, “Our Care Professionals Networking Day is a fantastic opportunity to connect with like-minded peers while finding out more about Little Havens and the care and support we can provide
“This session will shine a spotlight on neonatal and perinatal care, an area that sadly represents the highest number of child deaths, yet where we receive the fewest referrals. By raising awareness of the support Little Havens can offer, we hope more families will be able to access the care they need.”
Little Havens, part of Havens Hospices, offers a wide range of support, activities, and facilities, including ‘day stay’ sessions and overnight stays for respite, emergency stays and free accommodation for family members, social groups and activities, as well as specialist care for babies, children and young people when the end of life is near.
