Creative Therapy Workshops

Spring bookmark tutorial

Lizzie, our Creative Therapist, shows you how to make spring bookmarks. 

You will need lollipop sticks (thin or thick), paint, paint brushes, stick on gems (small buttons, sequins etc), scissors, firm felt or textured card, PVA glue, small pom poms or other embellishments, stick on eyes for crafts, thin ribbon (optional).

Make a chalk butterfly with Lizzie

Resources needed – chalk pastels, plain paper white or cream, wet wipes, Pritt stick, embellishments such as stick on gems, sequins, buttons, feathers etc, glitter, scissors, hair spray if using glitter, felt pens, black fine liner, colouring pencils. Christmas pipe cleaner decorations

Lizzie, our Creative Therapist, shows you how to make pipe cleaner snowflake and angel decorations for Christmas. 

The Christmas creative therapy workshop is intended for children and the whole family to get involved with. This session aims to provide families with the opportunity to come together and take part in a family-based therapeutic session that promotes emotional wellbeing and relationship building.

Resources for the session:

  • Pipe cleaners, variety of colours  or just white, silver etc
  • PVA glue
  • Scissors
  • Christmas bits like little pom poms, cotton wool, glittery threads etc..
  • Glitter
  • Sequins, stick on gems etc
  • Ribbons, string to hang
  • Medium size plain buttons for halo if doing angel

The Christmas creative therapy workshop is intended for children and the whole family to get involved with. This session aims to provide families with the opportunity to come together and take part in a family-based therapeutic session that promotes emotional wellbeing and relationship building.

For the Christmas card you will need:

  • Paints or ink pads
  • A4 card to fold in half or plain cards you can decorate
  • Pens/ felt tips
  • Tree template printed (unless you want to draw this yourself)
  • PVA glue and any decorations to include like glitter, sequins, tissue paper

Christmas twig tree

The Christmas creative therapy workshop is intended for children and the whole family to get involved with. This session aims to provide families with the opportunity to come together and take part in a family-based therapeutic session that promotes emotional wellbeing and relationship building.

For the twig tree you will need:

  • Medium to small twigs depending on the size you want the decoration to be
  • Variety of thick ribbons
  • Scissors
  • Thin ribbon or string to hang the decoration
  • Any embellishments you want to include for example bells (these can be purchased from Amazon, craft or Christmas shops

Christmas Pine Cone Decorations

If you weren't able to join our Christmas Pine Cone decoration workshop you can watch the video here and follow along at home. 

The workshop is intended for children and the whole family to get involved with. In the session we will be creating pine cone Christmas decorations. This session aims to provide families with the opportunity to come together and take part in a family-based therapeutic session that promotes relationship building.

For the workshop you will need:

  • Pinecones (which you can collect from your garden, park local woods etc)
  • paints (green to make it look like a Christmas tree but can be any colours you wold like)
  • Sequins, embellishments or anything you wish to stick on 
  • cotton wool 
  • glitter (optional)
  • PVA glue
  • Thin ribbon or string to hang your decoration

Family Finger Paint Tree

If you weren't able to join our first Zoom Creative Therapy workshop, you can watch it here. 

The workshop is intended for children and the whole family to get involved with. In the session you will be creating a ‘Family Finger Paint Tree’ using this downloadable tree template. This session aims to provide families with the opportunity to come together and take part in a family-based therapeutic session that promotes emotional wellbeing and relationship building.

All you will need for the workshop is to have printed out the downloadable tree template here, ink pads or paints, and A4/A3 coloured paper and cards. You can be as creative as you like during the sessions such as adding glitter, cotton wool or sequins to your family tree – anything you have around the house. You could even out some pictures of family members to stick onto the tree.
