Essex County Council Car Park is also available for use on the day, free of charge and no maximum height restrictions (next door to the County Hotel, CM1 2PZ).

The Event Hub will be located in Central Park, Chelmsford, CM1 1JJ. At the Event Hub there will be a registration tent, baggage, changing facilities, refreshments, sports massage (for donation to charity) and toilets. The Event Hub in Central Park is a five minute walk to the start line on the High Street in the city centre.
Please note that there are no parking facilities at Central Park and you must use one of the City Centre car parks (please see Parking section). Central Park is located just outside of the city centre and the Event Hub will be clearly signposted. The race finish is located adjacent to the Event Hub.
Runners will not need to sign in if they have pre registered. Only those who are signing up on the day will need to go to the Registration Tent in Central Park.
The race start is close to the Shire Hall (outside Café Nero) on the High Street. The start time is 9.15am prompt.
Late starters cannot be accommodated. Signage will be in place to direct runners to the race start from Central Park. Runners will line up in the start funnel in the appropriate section, according to their expected completion time. The start sections will be for:
All runners must finish the race by 4.15pm, a cut off time of 7hrs.
Hot and cold refreshments will be available to purchase in the Runners Village. We will have a fully manned free baggage store, changing facilities and toilets. Sports Therapists will be offer post event massages for a fee.
We will have a full medical team in attendance, EDMS Medical Services will be based on the route and back at the start and finish. EDMS are Havens Hospices chosen medical provider for all events.
There are 9 waters stations along the route all offering water and jelly babies. If you prefer any other refreshments you can either carry these with you or use our drop off crates. If you have a specific drinks or gels that you wish to take at a certain water station on the route, you can leave a clearly labelled bottle or gel in the allocated crate at the registration marquee in Central Park before 8.30am and we will drop this at the water station of your choice ready for you to collect. Please be aware that personal refreshments will be left at your own risk and we will be unable to bring anything back to the finish for you. Our water will be dispensed into plastic cups. Please note we will have water at the finish and we will be recycling all plastic bottles and cups.
Race packs will be sent out 2-3 weeks pre event. Your pack will contain your timing chip and information about the day. Running numbers need to be worn on your front and you must fill out the details on the reverse for safety reasons.
All runners will receive a bespoke medal on completion of the race. Trophies will be awarded in the following categories:

Free t-shirts will be available on the day (sizes XS-S-M-L-XL-XXL-XXXL), along with a bespoke event medal, banana, water and cereal bar.
A polite reminder that the wearing of headphones, or similar devices, is not permitted at this event given that it is run under UK Athletics Rules of Competion (RULE 240 S5).
We have been working closely with the County Hotel Chelmsford who have very kindly offered Chelmsford Marathon participants the following package if you are looking for somewhere to stay the night before and/or after race day.
