When a teen experiences the death of a loved one, they are at an age where they are already dealing with the transition from childhood to adulthood and all the complexities that brings.
This programme will give you an insight into how teenagers respond to bereavement and loss. It will explore some of the common misconceptions around teens and grief.
It will also look at ways of responding to and working with bereaved young people.
The objectives are as follows:
• Using current research and what young people are saying
• Look at issues for teenagers when they are grieving
Some knowledge of bereavement theory would be helpful. This course may not be suitable for newly bereaved people as this course involves experiential learning.
