AGE RESTRICTION

The Wing Walker must be aged between 18-80 years of age.

CANCELLATION BY YOU (The participant)

If a customer does not turn up for their experience 15 minutes before their briefing time, we reserve the right to offer their place to another party on the day, and retain any payment received.

If you wish to cancel or rearrange your booking, you must email FRadmin@havenshospices.org.uk at least 8 weeks before your experience (Monday 1st July 2024). Failure to inform us by this date will result in Havens Hospices being charged in full for your booking. Please note that the £100 booking fee is non refundable. If you fail to turn up on the day of the event it will be considered a no show and you will not be able to reschedule.

Transfers are permitted on the condition that the minimum sponsorship of £750 has been received by 7th July 2024 and that the replacement participant meets the Health & Safety age, weight and height requirements.

CANCELLATION BY US (THE WING WALK COMPANY OR HAVENS HOSPICES)

We are flying in the UK and like other outdoor experiences we are subject to the British weather. Also, we are flying vintage aircraft which are subject to extensive safety checks and maintenance programmes, which sometimes pick up faults necessitating unscheduled repairs, and therefore delays. Your safety is paramount to us, and we will never compromise your safety, as such we reserve the right to cancel or delay your flight at any time.

We want to make you aware that there is a possibility of short notice cancellation due to weather, mechanical problems with our aircraft or other unforeseen circumstance beyond our control.

Should your flight be cancelled by us, we will endeavour to provide you with as much notice as possible and you will be provided with the ability to reschedule your flight for the next available slot.

The Wing Walk Company and Havens Hospices will not be liable for any costs such as travel or accommodation by the participant, their family or friends.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE WEATHER IS BAD AND WE CAN’T FLY?

We do not provide refunds if the weather is bad we reschedule the flight to a suitable new date.
We cannot fly in strong winds and rain. Our Chief Pilot checks the forecast regularly and Havens will contact the pilot the day before your experience to confirm if your flight is going ahead of not.
If we are forced to cancel your flight due to bad weather, then the group charity booking will be rearranged and the charity will communicate the new date with you, please do not contact The Wing Walk Company or the Airfield directly.

YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES CHANGE

If your circumstances change, for example you are pregnant; instead of cancelling or changing the date of your Wing Walk you can consider offering the Wing Walk experience to a friend or relative. This can be done by emailing FRadmin@havenshospices.org.uk.

FORCE MAJEURE
Should other circumstances outside of our control arise, which could not have been prevented despite all precautions by us, for example; acts of God, riots, pandemics, civil unrest and Civil Aviation Authority restrictions, that put a stop to an event, refunds will not be given.

All wing walkers will be able to re-schedule to a future date when the event will be held as normal, after the disruption has passed. If the disruption has an undetermined length, and continues for longer than 12 months; your voucher expiry date will be extended accordingly so your booking can be rolled over.

WHAT IF I DON’T MEET THE ABOVE HEALTH & SAFETY STANDARDS ON THE DAY?

All wing walkers agree that they meet the Wing Walk Requirements when they book their experience.

On the day of your Wing Walk you will be weighed; if you are over 85kgs (13st 4lb) or taller than 6ft 2inches (189cm); due to the rules set by the Civil Aviation Authority, you will not able to Wing Walk and the charity will still be charged for the booking. Or, if you wish a friend or family member can do the wing walk on your behalf.

WHAT IF I HAVEN'T RAISED THE MINIMUM SPONSORSHIP IN TIME?

If you have been unable to send in the minimum sponsorship of £750 by the 7th July 2024 (or demonstrate you have raised it via an online fundraising platform such as Just Giving) you will unfortunately be unable to jump on your allocated date. Subject to availability, we may be able to move your experience to a later date to give you more time to raise your minimum sponsorship but we must have at least 8 weeks notice to do this and it depends on availability. Please email FRadmin@havenshospices.org.uk for full details.

BEHAVIOUR & ATTITUDE OF WING RIDER, THEIR FAMILY & FRIENDS

The Wing Walk Company Ltd can refuse to fly an individual on the day if they have any concerns relating to the wing rider, their family or friends behaviour or attitude that may have a negative impact on the safety of the environment at the airfield or the wing walk flight itself.
