Louise has had a successful 20-year career in the city as a Real Estate lawyer, working at a large international law firm. She started her training contract in 2003 having studied law at the University of Leeds and remained at the same law firm for her entire career, being promoted to the role of Senior Counsel. Louise acted for a variety of property investors, institutions and owner occupiers on a broad range of multimillion pound real estate transactions.
During lockdown, Louise decided to leave private practice and put her career on hold to spend more time with her family. Despite no longer working as a lawyer, she remains registered on the Solicitors Regulation Authority Roll as a non-practicing solicitor.
Louise lives in Grays with her husband and her children but has a strong connection with Havens Hospices. In 2006 her cherished mother-in-law was cared for by Fair Havens for three weeks. Since then, Louise and her family have supported Havens Hospices in several ways including running the Southend Half Marathon, asking friends and family to donate rather than giving gifts on her 40th birthday and, more recently courageously undertook a wing walk.
In 2024 Louise became a volunteer at Havens Hospices spending an afternoon a week in the In Patient Unit supporting the Care Team and spending time with patients and their families, repaying the kindness and care given to her family and to her mother-in-law. Louise continues to volunteer in IPU alongside her role as a Trustee. By becoming a Trustee, she is keen to support the essential role Havens Hospices plays in the local community.
