Louise Bryan

Havens Hospices is pleased to announce the appointment of Louise Bryan as Interim Chief Executive Officer, effective 1st June.

Louise will retain responsibility for financial oversight and continue to serve as a Director on the charity’s Trading Board, while additional support is being brought in to strengthen both Finance and Administration teams. The current Leadership structure and team of direct reports will remain in place throughout the interim period.

“We have a strong plan, a committed team, and a clear purpose. This is a year of consolidation—of steady, calm leadership—and I’m confident that together we can lay the foundations for a stronger, more sustainable future for local hospice care.”

A qualified FCCA, Louise has a degree in accountancy and finance, starting her career as an auditor while completing her professional exams.

After working in London for a large oil company, Louise moved closer to home to take up a position at an Essex brewery as it underwent a huge period of growth. Flexibility and variety led Louise to start consultancy work, working with Essex Business Link as a non-executive board member and later with a private equity firm on behalf of East London Bus Group.

For the last seven years, Louise has supported fast-growth start-up businesses by providing remote finance support.

Louise says, “I am so excited to have joined the team at Havens Hospices. I am really looking forward to working with such committed and enthusiastic people.  As well as looking after the finances of the charity, I will also be looking for business development opportunities to protect the future of the hospices against the current economic challenges, so that we can continue to offer the amazing services to the families who need our support.

“It has been a difficult few years for everyone, especially for the care sector. I have a family member receiving care and some of my close friends are local medical professionals, so I have witnessed the challenges they face. This has motivated me to take up this position at Havens Hospices. I would like to use my skills and experience to make a difference in this field.”
