Liz Mell

Liz completed her nursing training at Kings College Hospital and as a qualified nurse returned to work at Southend Hospital. In 1992 Liz left the NHS looking for a role with the opportunity to make more of a lasting difference and found this with the charity John Grooms Association working in a small care home with adults with disabilities. From this point providing quality services and creating opportunities for people with profound and multiple disabilities became Liz’s passion.

Over Liz’s career she has worked for Christian charities, both on an employed and consultancy basis in both quality and operational management. Her most recent post, from which she stepped down in December, was Executive Director of Operations for Livability, a charity where she was responsible for all care, support, employment and education services for adults and children. Liz has experience of working with multi-disciplinary professional and clinical teams, and of using audits, service visits and data to monitor and evaluate services regulated by the Care Quality Commission and Ofsted.
