We have the privilege of caring for many children, adults, and their families in the comfort of their own home and through our hospice services, Little Havens and Fair Havens.
Like many people, they had preconceptions of what hospice care meant. They have agreed to tell their story to you in the hope that it sheds some light on the reality of how hospice care can benefit families in the toughest of times, and overcome fears of what hospices are like.
We didn’t know what to expect; I was terrified to come… But once we came, all the kids loved it here. It felt like a home from home. – Jenni
"Little Havens helped us transition between hospital and home after Isaac’s amputation – a slow introduction back to reality."
"You find your people here. There’s no pity, no sympathy – just acceptance. People see Connie for the bright little girl she is."
"Little Havens is the one place we fully feel we can trust."
"Little Havens gave me the chance to realise that having a health condition doesn’t mean the end of everything."
“I love the feeling when we walk through the doors, and I don't have to worry about anything as I know he is safe and happy.”
Little Havens was recommended to us – we didn’t really know anything about our local children’s hospice – until we walked through the front door
“I don’t even want to think about Little Havens not being here, we just want it to be available forever.”
