Hold a Royal Fundraiser in support of local hospice care

A local hospice charity is encouraging the community to support its care by hosting a fundraiser ‘fit for a King’ during the King’s Coronation bank holiday weekend.

Between Saturday 6th and Monday 8th May 2023, Havens Hospices is asking supporters to hold afternoon tea get-togethers, street parties or garden barbeques in aid of the charity which cares for local children, young people and adults living with incurable conditions.

To mark this special year and to help kick start the celebrations, the charity has created a special Coronation Fundraising Pack available to download on its website for free.

Aron Lane, Fundraising Officer at Havens Hospices says: “This is an excellent opportunity to not only bring your family, friends, colleagues and neighbours together but to raise much needed funds for your local hospices, Fair Havens and Little Havens.

“Our hospice care is a lifeline for local families and we must do all we can to raise more than £85,000 each week to be there for more local people, ‘Making every day count’.

“Whether you want to hold an afternoon tea party with your friends and family, a royal-themed cake sale at work, or organise a street party with your neighbours – we would love for you to get involved and have a royally good time. We’re here to support you every step of the way.”

After the coronation ceremony, the public is encouraged to give back to their local communities in a nationwide volunteering initiative called the Big Help Out. Havens Hospices is always on the lookout for volunteers to support the charity across a range of functions, such as working in our shops to helping at one of our events.
