Havens Hospices – which includes Fair Havens for adults and Little Havens for children – is proud to be one of over 143 hospices taking part in the “This is Hospice Care” campaign, led by Hospice UK. This initiative aims to raise awareness of the vital role hospices play in communities, shift public perceptions of hospice care and encourage people to consider leaving a legacy gift in their will to ensure this care lives on.
The campaign, which launched on Monday 17th February, includes a powerful TV advert based on real-life hospice stories. It highlights the impact a gift in someone’s will can have on individuals and their loved ones relying on their local hospice, ensuring that these essential services can continue providing compassionate and specialist care for future generations.
Havens Hospices is a registered charity; this means they are not part of the NHS and receive limited government funding. It relies on the generosity of its supporters to raise millions of pounds every year to continue providing vital specialist care and support to those who have been diagnosed with an incurable condition.
Steve Smith, CEO of Havens Hospices, said, “The campaign highlights the critical work we do for our communities and the lasting impact that gifts in wills can have on our ability to continue providing supportive and end of life care to people of all ages across the county.
“Legacy gifts in wills make a significant difference to local people of all ages who rely on Havens Hospices. With an ageing population, demand for hospice care is increasing year-on-year locally; it’s never been more important to consider supporting your local hospice with a legacy gift – no matter how big or small – so we can continue to be there for you, your loved ones and those who may need us in the future.”
