Farleigh Hospice, Havens Hospices, St Clare Hospice, Saint Francis Hospice and St Luke’s Hospice are proud to partner for the second phase of the ‘This is Hospice Care’ campaign led by Hospice UK this autumn.
This initiative aims to raise awareness of the vital role hospices play in communities, shift public perceptions of hospice care and encourage people to consider leaving a legacy gift in their Will to ensure this care lives on.
Following the success of the first wave in February, the campaign returns with a renewed focus, including a powerful TV advert based on real-life hospice stories, reigniting conversations around hospice care and encouraging the public to leave a lasting legacy for future generations.
Hospices are registered charities; this means they are not part of the NHS and often receive limited government funding. Hospices rely on the generosity of their supporters to raise millions of pounds every year to continue providing vital specialist care and support to those who have been diagnosed with an incurable condition.
A spokesperson on behalf of the Essex hospices said, “We are proud to be part of the second wave of this national campaign. It’s a chance to remind people across Essex – and the country – that hospice care is not just about the end of life; it’s about helping people live well until the very end.
“As local charities, we depend on the generosity of our supporters. Legacy gifts, no matter the size, play a vital role in sustaining our services. With the demand for hospice care rising, these gifts help us reach more people and families with expert, compassionate care – when they need it most.”
