Choice donates almost £40K from carrier bags to Havens Hospices

Fashion and home outlet Choice has generously donated close to £40K to a local hospice charity after raising funds in-store through carrier bag charges.

The funds, made purely from sales of bags across its 23 stores, were generated over a 12-month period.

The local company has supported Havens Hospices for many years with numerous initiatives and campaigns. The hospice charity relies on donations from the community to fund its specialist care and support to adults, babies, children and young people living with incurable conditions, and their families. This care is provided completely free of charge thanks to donations from businesses like Choice.

Neil Donovan, Managing Director at Choice said: “We chose to support Havens Hospices as they provide such amazing care to those in the community who need it most, they’re nothing short of heroes. Choice has supported Havens Hospices over many years now and will continue to do so.”

Judy Grocott, Head of Fundraising said: “It never ceases to amaze us how generous local businesses are, helping us to continue providing a wide range of support and care to children, young people and adults across Essex.

“Thanks to Choice’s donation, Havens Hospices will continue to give local families more time, more opportunities to do what’s important to them, more choice, and more control over their care, supporting everyone in our community to make every day of their life count. On behalf of everybody at Havens Hospices thank you for your generous donation and continued support.”
