Teens Dealing with Grief 2024

About the course

When: Where: Little Havens, SS7 2LH Cost: £95 (Lunch included)

When a teen experiences the death of a loved one, they are at an age where they are already dealing with the transition from childhood to adulthood and all the complexities it brings.

This course will give you insight into how teenagers aged 11-18 respond to bereavement and loss. It will explore some of the common misconceptions about teens and grief and examine ways of responding to and working with pre and post-bereaved young people. You will also hear firsthand from a young person about their experiences and what they found helpful.

Delivered through a mix of presentations, group discussions and creative activities to support your learning, this course invites people to share their own experiences of bereavement and loss. If you have any concerns or would like to discuss this further, please email our Learning & Development Team or call 01702 220 350.

Who is it suitable for?
Our specially tailored course is designed for anybody working or volunteering with teens facing loss, such as those working in the education, healthcare, and social care sectors, as well as parents. Some knowledge of bereavement theory would be helpful.
