Many young people in the UK are affected by the death of a parent, sibling or other adults who have a significant impact on their lives. Often, they will feel very alone and face many challenges as they manage the impact of the death.
In this supportive, interactive, and creative course, we explore together ways of working with pre- and post-bereaved children up to the age of 11. Through arts and crafts activities, we aim to boost your confidence when working with children and to facilitate open conversations. We also examine the ages and stages of development and grief and hear from children about their experiences and what they found helpful.
Delivered through a mix of presentations, group discussions and creative activities to support your learning, this course invites people to share their own experiences of bereavement and loss. If you have any concerns or would like to discuss this further, please email our Learning & Development Team or call 01702 220 350.
Who is it suitable for?
Our specially tailored course is designed for anybody working or volunteering with children facing loss, such as those working in the education, healthcare, or social care sectors, as well as parents.
