Bereavement and Loss

About the course

When: Where: Virtual: Using Zoom Cost: £150 for 5 days

This is a highly experiential course in a safe and supportive environment. We take an in-depth look at the experience of bereavement and loss and how we might respond and care for the bereaved in different ways.

Over the five days the course aims to look at:

  • Self-awareness and loss
  • Theories of bereavement and loss
  • Listening and responding to loss
  • Grief and the extended family
  • Anticipatory Grief

Facilitators: Sue Pullen is a bereavement counsellor and supervisor who has worked with the bereaved over many years, both at Havens Hospices and also in the community for Stibbards Funeral directors.  She has run bereavement groups for adults and children as well as counselling and supporting bereaved individuals. Sue supervises professionals who care for families in the community.

Lauren Draycott brings a wealth of experience working as a counsellor and supervisor with over ten years experience of supporting the bereaved at Havens Hospices. In her role as counseling service lead she supervises a team of staff and volunteers.
