Create your own Santa Run

A Santa Run is a fun and festive way to bring everyone together while helping local children, adults and families who need our care.

Whether you run, walk, skip or dance your way around the course, you can make your Santa Run as big or as small as you like.

For schools this could fit it within your PE curriculum or as a fun extra-curricular activity in the run up to the festive season.

How to get involved

Every Santa hat and festive jumper worn, every lap completed and every pound raised helps us continue making every day count for local families.

However you choose to take part, the most important thing is to have fun, get moving and help raise vital funds for Havens Hospices.

  • Sign up to receive your free fundraising resources
  • Pick your own date throughout December
  • Decide the distance and route
  • Set up a JustGiving page for participants to raise sponsorship, or you could ask for a small donation from each person taking part. We suggest a minimum £2 per child
  • Share the letter to parents and carers that we will provide so they can see how their donations will make a difference
  • Then it’s time to pick your own outfits – from festive jumpers to asking everyone to wear a Santa hat. We want to make our Schools Santa Run as sustainable as possible so encourage the children to wear something festive or theme it to suit you

Every pound raised through your Santa Run helps Havens Hospices continue providing specialist care and support for local children, adults and their families.

Your fundraising could help towards:

  • £5 could pay for craft materials for a creative therapy session.
  • £28 could provide materials for a hand and foot casting.
  • £67 could pay for an hour of music therapy for a young person, helping them to express themselves and communicate, whatever their ability.

Choose a date that works for you and organise your Santa Run at your school, nursery, workplace or community venue. After your event you can use our certificates to celebrate everyone who has taken part, then collect and pay in all monies raised to Havens Hospices. We will send details of paying in funds once you’ve had your event.

You could:

  • Run together as a class, year group or whole school
  • Choose a distance that works for your group
  • Hold your Santa Run on one day or spread it across several days
  • Ask participants to make a donation,  get sponsored or both!
  • Encourage everyone to wear something festive – from Santa hats and Christmas jumpers to their favourite festive fancy dress!
