Complete Intacare Hygiene Limited, one of the UK’s fastest-growing independent hygiene and cleaning suppliers, has supported Havens Hospices which includes Fair Havens adult hospice and Little Havens Children’s Hospice, for more than two years. During that time, the company has raised and donated more than £6,000 to support babies, children, young adults and adults living with incurable conditions across Essex.
To support its chosen Charity of the Year, five colleagues took to the skies on 11 July to complete the thrilling Wing Walk challenge, soaring through the sky at up to 100mph all in a bid to raise more funds for Little Havens.
The challenge meant more than just supporting Little Havens as it was in memory of one of the team members niece, Summer, who received care at Little Havens.
Caroline, Summer’s aunt, said, “It was incredibly special to complete the challenge in memory of Summer, who was the most amazing little girl and brought so much joy to everyone around her. Little Havens was one of her favourite places, and we’ll never be able to thank the team enough for the care, compassion and dignity they showed Summer and our family.”
When talking about the Wing Walk challenge Caroline said, “We’ve wanted to take on a Wing Walk for a while, so combining it with raising money for our chosen charity, Havens Hospices, was a no-brainer. There were definitely a few nerves before the day, but the flying team put everyone at ease and made it an unforgettable experience. We all had an amazing time – in fact, some of the team are already talking about taking on the acrobatic Wing Walk next! We’d absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a unique fundraising challenge. It’s great fun and knowing you’re raising money for such an incredible charity makes it even more worthwhile.”
The fearless fundraisers have raised an incredible £1,700 for Little Havens helping the charity to continue caring for more families like Summer’s.
