Havens Hospices Stanford-le-Hope Charity Shop Reopens After 10-Week Closure

Havens Hospices is delighted to announce that its Stanford-le-Hope charity shop has reopened its doors to the community following a 10-week closure after a vehicle collided with the shop front in November.

The shop, located on King Street, welcomed customers back on Monday 2nd February, and to celebrate the reopening, everything is £1 in store until Saturday 8th February.

Mark Davies, Head of Trading at Havens Hospices, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be back open in Stanford-le-Hope. The past 10 weeks have been challenging, but the support we’ve received from the local community has been truly overwhelming. We’re so grateful to everyone who has continued to support Havens Hospices during this difficult time.

“We cannot thank our staff and volunteers enough for their unwavering commitment during this period. Many have helped at our Corringham shop throughout the closure, ensuring we could continue to raise vital funds for the babies, children, and young people we care for. It’s fantastic to have them back in Stanford-le-Hope, doing what they do best.

“We’d like to thank the community for their patience and understanding while we worked with the landlord and insurance company to get the shop back to its best.

“The closure resulted in a loss of income that could have funded over 500 hours of care. Every purchase made in our charity shops directly supports the free, specialist support we provide to local children and their families at Little Havens across Essex.”

Open seven days a week, the shop is now fully operational and is accepting donations of good-quality items.
