The Jurassic Coast – England’s first Natural World Heritage Site – is the most geologically diverse coastline in the world! Our weekend fundraising challenge takes in some of this famous coastline’s most spectacular scenery, as we trek over 22 hilly miles from Durlston Head all the way to the renowned and strikingly-beautiful Lulworth Cove, finishing above the equally-impressive, natural stone archway of Durdle Door.
It’s tough terrain, but knowing your efforts will be raising money for a cause close to your heart will spur you on. The exposed cliff sections along the way allow you to look back through 185 million years of time; dinosaur remains have been found here, and it’s a fossil-hunter’s paradise. With a more recent history of mining, shipwrecks and smuggling, this is a fascinating and demanding stretch of coastline.
