The collection service will pick up real Christmas trees from households across South East Essex on Friday 9th, Saturday 10th and Monday 12th January 2026.
This year’s scheme will collect from the following postcodes: SS0, SS1, SS2, SS3, SS4, SS5, SS6, SS7, SS8 and SS9.
When booking the collection service, residents can donate an amount they choose to help Havens Hospices continue providing free, specialist care for local babies, children, young people and adults living with incurable conditions and their families. As an example, £10 could pay for a meal for two people at the hospice this Christmas, or £29 could pay for one hour of specialist nursing care.
This year’s collections are kindly being sponsored by the Province of Essex, and all trees will be turned into wood chippings by Essex Tree Services for free and reused in the gardens at Fair Havens and Little Havens hospices.
Lucy Lock, Community Engagement Manager at Havens Hospices said: “This is the sixth year we have run our Christmas Tree Collection Service, and the fundraiser has raised more than £36,000 towards local hospice care.
“This wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of our generous communities, and we want to carry on this momentum and make this year our biggest fundraiser to date.
“Hundreds of local families rely on the care and support of Havens Hospices. We’re here for our community because of our community, and every donation truly makes a difference to families who need us most.”
Havens Hospices is looking for volunteers with vans who can kindly offer their time to collect trees. If you can help, please contact the Fundraising Team at Havens Hospices by emailing FRadmin@havenshospices.org.uk. Please note that any volunteer drivers need to have their own Public Liability insurance.
To book a collection service, visit www.havenshospices.org.uk/trees before Sunday 4th January 2026 at 11:59pm. Trees must be presented outside the front of your property by 9am on Friday 9th January.
