The Waddle-on-Sea trail, created by Havens Hospices in partnership with Wild in Art, features 31 large penguin sculptures and 72 baby sculptures in Southend-on-Sea and Leigh-on-Sea. The trail runs until Wednesday 3 September, bringing colour, creativity and community spirit to the area.
The charity’s dedicated team of employees and volunteers have been championing a wide selection of souvenirs inspired by the popular art trail, including paint your own penguin sculptures, activity books, trail maps, keyrings, badges and soft toys.
All proceeds support the free specialist care Havens Hospices provides for people of all ages across Essex, including their families, ensuring the right support is available where and when it’s needed. This vital care is only possible thanks to donations and fundraising initiatives like Waddle-on-Sea.
Mark Davies, Head of Trading at Havens Hospices. “Every item sold is more than just a memento – it’s a way to help us continue providing care when and where it’s needed most. The success of Waddle-on-Sea has been incredible, and merchandise sales are playing a big role in boosting our fundraising.”
To celebrate Afternoon Tea Week, one of the range’s most practical keepsakes, the Waddle-on-Sea tea towel featuring the large or baby sculptures, is now available at 20% off. Usually £7.50, the price is reduced to £6 for this week only. It’s the perfect excuse to add a splash of penguin charm to the kitchen while helping to make a difference.
Waddle on down to Waddle HQ in Southend High Street, pop into the Leigh Road shop, or explore the range online at: www.havenshospices.shop/collections/wos.
