Do you want to offer your time as a volunteer, but do not have a set time commitment to give?

Occasional volunteering is a great way to get involved, but on a flexible basis. We are looking for volunteers to help at events and collections, where you decide how much time you would like to offer. If you would like to offer your time, you will be provided with full support and an event briefing so you feel adequately supported to carry out your role.

Southend Half Marathon

Location: East Beach, Shoeburyness and route along Southend seafront.
Date: 12th June

We’re looking for a time commitment between 8am until approx. 1pm, depending on the role.

We are looking for volunteers to help in a variety of roles at the Southend Half Marathon on the 12th June. We are looking for volunteers to help in various roles including marshalling the route, manning water stations, event set up and pack down, handing out medals, manning the baggage tent and assisting with registration.

We’re looking for a time commitment between 8am until approx. 1pm, depending on the role.

No specific skills or experience is required, volunteers need to be encouraging and able to stand for long periods. There will be some interaction with the public including providing directions for the event (i.e. where the finish line is, details of the road closures etc. which will all be provided)

Race4Business

Location: Chelmsford High Street & Central Park

Date: 29th June 5-8pm

We’re looking for volunteers to join us for our Race4Business fundraising event, a 3.5 mile run, on Wednesday 29th June at 5-8pm.

ROLE

Route Marshal (to be in pairs)

RESPONSIBILITIES

To direct runners and general public following Event briefing. Response to any emergencies. Must have one mobile phone between pair.

SCHEDULE

5pm – Volunteer Marshal Briefing, Chelmsford either Central Park, Admirals Park or City Centre, dependant on Marshal point location.

5.15pm – Start to place marshals in each zone.

5.30pm – All marshals in place on the route ready for Test Runner starting at 5.45pm.
