Vote for Havens Hospices to win a Top Charity Film Award

A local charity is calling on supporters to vote for one of its promotional videos to win a top charity film award.

Havens Hospices, which has two hospices based in Prittlewell and Thundersley, has been nominated in the Smiley Charity Film Awards for the third year running and won the Silver Prize for People’s Choice in 2023 and 2024 for its films ‘Dying Matters at Havens Hospices’ and ‘Elijah’s Story’.

Nominated alongside well-known national charities such as RNLI and Save the Children UK, its film ‘It’s not about counting the days, it’s about making every day count’ highlights the charity’s important work and how donations can help make every day count and a huge difference when someone has been told there is no cure for their illness.

Amy Dearing, Director of Fundraising and Marketing at Havens Hospices, says, “We’re absolutely thrilled to be nominated once again. Thanks to the incredible support of our community, we’ve won Silver for two years running, which meant so much to everybody at Havens Hospices.

“Storytelling, especially through film, is invaluable in raising awareness about our work and showing the difference our supporters’ donations make for the families we care for.

“We’re privileged to tell the stories of the families who depend on our care, and we are incredibly grateful to them for sharing their experiences. Please consider voting for Havens Hospices—it’s free, takes less than a minute, and would mean the world to the charity and those we support.”
