Havens Hospices is inviting the community to join them for a special open day at its children’s hospice for a rare behind-the-scenes look at the work they do.

Little Havens, the children’s hospice for Essex, located on Daws Heath Road, Thundersley, is opening its doors to the public on Sunday, 21st September, between 1pm and 4pm.

There will be a guided tour of the hospice, a chance to meet members of the charity’s care and fundraising teams, and an opportunity to learn how your donations make a difference. You will also have the chance to discover volunteering and fundraising opportunities. Refreshments and merchandise will be available to purchase.

Ella Huber-Brown, Deputy Head of Fundraising at Havens Hospices said: “We’re often asked what Little Havens is really like – many people assume it’s a sad place, but it’s actually full of life, love and laughter and not what people expect.

“Whether you’re a long-time supporter, considering getting involved, or simply curious, this is a wonderful opportunity to see the amazing work we do and meet the people behind our specialist care and support.”

Attendees don’t need to book in advance; simply pop in on the day between 1-4 pm, but if they can, they are asked to let the team know by registering your interest. This will help them plan and make the visit as smooth as possible. There’s plenty of free parking on site, plus the hospice is wheelchair accessible.
