Little Havens Children’s Hospice is inviting the community to join them for a special open day and have a rare behind-the-scenes look at the work they do. This is also a chance to explore their beautiful gardens and grounds, including the brand-new Moana Pacific island-inspired garden which is usually only accessible to families supported by the hospice.
Little Havens, the children’s hospice for Essex, located on Daws Heath Road, Thundersley, is opening its doors to the public on Sunday, 27th September, between 1pm and 4pm.
There will be a guided tour of the hospice, a chance to meet members of the charity’s care and fundraising teams, and an opportunity to learn how your donations make a difference. You will also have the chance to discover volunteering and fundraising opportunities. Refreshments and merchandise will be available to purchase.
The charity unveiled the new part of their garden inspired by Disney “Moana” earlier this summer. The space brings together elements based on details from the beloved film, in an immersive and multisensory space created with viral landscaping duo The Green Genie Brothers and The Walt Disney Company UK & Ireland.
The gardens at Little Havens are usually reserved only for families supported by the hospice, so this open day gives supporters a rare opportunity to visit the space and see for themselves the pacific oasis-inspired garden which combines hard landscaping with a relaxed tropical atmosphere.
There’s plenty of free parking on site, plus the building is wheelchair accessible. Please note only assistance dogs are welcome to join at this event

Attendees don’t need to book in advance; simply pop in on the day between 1-4 pm, but if they can, they are asked to let the team know by registering your interest. This will help them plan and make the visit as smooth as possible.
