Local charity, Little Havens, is proud to announce its new Patron, Simon Webbe of boyband Blue.
The singer, who has won two Brit Awards and sold over 17 million records with Blue and as a solo artist, has become a Patron to help raise awareness of the charity and the vital care it offers to the local community.
Little Havens provides specialist care and support for babies, children and young people living with complex or incurable conditions from Essex and the surrounding boroughs.
Most of the babies, children and young people the charity cares for have conditions that limit their life expectancy, making it even more important for them and their families to make every day of their lives together count.
Simon says, “It’s an absolute pleasure to be asked to be a Patron for Little Havens. Webbe Industries have been working with the charity for four years now, and we have had the opportunity to see first-hand how much work goes into running a place like Little Havens and their amazing facilities and staff.”
Simon joins the charity alongside his wife, Creative Director of Webbe Industries and Essex-based Mummy Blogger, Ayshen Webbe. Ayshen has become an Ambassador for Little Havens, supporting the charity shops in their mission.
In their roles as Patron and Ambassador, the pair will help to raise the profile of the charity and be spokespersons for the work it does. They will be visiting the families the hospice cares for and will continue to support and fundraise for the charity, like at their upcoming Webbe Industries 2023 Gala in October.
Alyssa Gomes, aged 13, is supported by Little Havens and was at the hospice with her mum Lynette to meet Simon and Ayshen.
Lynette says, “It was lovely speaking to Simon and Ayshen when they visited. Little Havens is so important to us and many other families, so it’s great to hear they want to help raise awareness and money for the charity.
“Simon was wonderful with all the children and families, taking time to talk to everyone individually and have photos taken. My inner 20-year-old was also happy to meet someone whose music I’ve sung and danced to many times!”
Ayshen says, “It’s an absolute honour to be an Ambassador for Little Havens. I am truly grateful to have the opportunity to make a positive impact and create awareness for this extraordinary hospice.
“I am looking forward to visiting the hospice, immersing myself in their work, and connecting with the remarkable families and staff members who have their own unique stories to share.
“Ever since becoming a parent myself, I have gained a deeper understanding of the unimaginable pain these families endure – it’s a haunting fear for every loving parent. Witnessing the dedication and compassion of the staff as they care for children with life-limiting illnesses is nothing short of awe-inspiring.”
Everyone deserves to live their lives to the fullest – no matter how long or how short. Thanks to people like Simon and Ayshen, the charity can continue to raise awareness of the vital care and support it provides free of charge to families across Essex.
