Our volunteers form an integral part of our organisation and we recognise the immense contribution that they make to the charity.

We’re looking for a Volunteer Services Advisor to join our team, delivering vibrant, sustainable and cost-effective ways to engage, recruit, retain and recognise our volunteers, so we can care for everyone who needs us. In addition, you will be working with paid staff who manage volunteers; giving advice and support on how to work alongside, develop and manage volunteers.

You will have up to date and relevant knowledge surrounding current developments in volunteering for this well-loved Essex charity. You will need to be well organised, adaptable, have excellent communication skills and be able to develop and sustain relationships with multiple stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Developing and sustaining relationships with Volunteer Coordinators/Shop Managers, to understand their team and volunteer requirements
  • Supporting Volunteer Coordinators/Shop Managers to draft and review role descriptions, ensuring roles and tasks are meaningful and attractive
  • Providing Volunteer Coordinators/Shop Managers, with an advisory support service on volunteer management and best practice, supporting them to recruit, manage, retain and recognise their volunteers
