At Fair Havens in Prittlewell, overlooking Priory Park, we’re looking for a Staff Nurse to work as part of our multi-disciplinary team providing holistic care within our new, modern In Patient Unit.

Our friendly and supportive team focuses on giving patients choice in their care, with time to have these conversations.

Training in the following skills will be provided in order to develop your clinical skills:

  • Intravenous infusions and transfusions
  • Managing chest drains and ascitic drains
  • Sepsis treatment
  • Bladder irrigation
  • Cannulation and phlebotomy
  • Using clinical skills to escalate palliative emergencies
  • Wound and seizure management
  • Diagnostics

You’ll be supported in your training and development too, with a dedicated Education Team and Clinical Practice Development Facilitator.

Key responsibilities

  • To work as a member of the multidisciplinary team providing holistic care to Havens Hospices patients including assessment, planning and delivery of care.
  • Enhance independence and quality of life and support provision of a variety of therapies, practical and emotional support to patients and their carers.
  • Ensure the highest possible standards of specialist and supportive palliative nursing care are delivered to patients, responding to changing circumstances and needs.
