Philanthropy Assistant

Contract: Full Time/ Contract until 31st March 2022. £20,500.
Location: Fair Havens Hospice

We’re looking for a Philanthropy Assistant to join the charity’s dedicated Philanthropy Team. This role will be pivotal in providing support for Legacy, In-Memoriam and Major Donor income generation.

This is a diverse role including, general administration, engaging with supporters and other teams within the Hospice and assisting with Major Revenue events.

Candidates will be able to communicate sensitively with a wide range of people, ability to work on own initiative and work effectively within a team, ability to multitask and manage a busy and varied workload, working methodically and paying attention to detail, friendly, caring attitude towards people.

Candidates will have:

  • Intermediate keyboard and IT skills, working with Word, Excel and outlook, PowerPoint
  • Numeracy skills
  • Excellent customer service
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Ability to communicate sensitively and diplomatically with a wide range of people

Key responsibilities:

  • Support and assist with all activity in the Philanthropy team as required.
  • Provide general support with activity planning and logistics, both in preparation and on the day, and office tasks such as invoices or thank you letters.
  • Communicate effectively with our supporters, particularly acknowledging and thanking them for their donations and providing fundraising help and advice.
  • Meeting in person with relatives and friends of deceased to take donations.
  • Correspond professionally and sensitively with solicitors, executors, and the family of legators when necessary and appropriate.
