We’re looking for dynamic experienced Paediatric and Learning Disability Nurses to join our specialist 0- 25 children and young peoples respite and palliative care team.

You will have experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Nursing children & young people
  • Caring for children and young people with complex needs
  • Care of children and young adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
  • Caring for young adults at transition stage
  • Palliative & bereavement care

Based in Benfleet, South Essex, Little Havens Children’s Hospice provides care for children & young people registered with a GP in the county.  We are dedicated to looking after young people with life limiting conditions, many of whom have Special Educational Needs & Disabilities. We work with our community partners and focus on the individual needs of the children and families we care for.

Full job specification

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assessing planning and implementing holistic care to children and young people (CYP) requiring long term support, palliative and end of life care and who may also have learning disabilities.
  • To provide care to families across Essex, in ether a community and/or a hospice setting, depending on the service needs of CYP and their family
  • Managing a caseload of CYP ensuring care is prioritised and equitable access to services is facilitated
  • To act as a specialist resource, provide advice, education and support to CYP, families and other professionals.
