IT Technician

Contract: Perm/ Full Time. £30,000pa
Location: multisite (Fair Havens and Little Havens)

We are currently recruiting a IT Technician to join our established Facilities Team, to provide IT support to staff and volunteers. The successful applicant will be pivotal in ensuring administrative activities and patient experience are maximised.

Candidates will have:

  • Good ICT knowledge, including Microsoft 365, windows, desktop and laptop devices, sophos antivirus, Microsoft teams and OneDrive. Experience of supporting a mobile workforce.
  • Desirably we would also look for, networking issues acquired through qualifications to degree or equivalent level or relevant experience.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and data protection legislation and regulations and how these might apply in patient database management income generation database management.
  • Excellent record keeping skills
  • Ability to plan and manage a varied set of support activities and to achieve deadlines
  • Analytical thinking skills, in particular in order to identify problems and create effective solutions.

At Havens Hospices we care for children, young people and adults with complex or incurable conditions. Our specialist Care Teams can support them and their family living throughout illness, death and bereavement, in the comfort of their own home and through our hospice services, Fair Havens, The J’s and Little Havens.

Although you may not be giving direct care to our families, this role will have a direct effect on our care services.

Key responsibilities:

  • To coordinate between Havens Hospices users and all third-party IT support and suppliers to achieve optimum effectiveness for both parties.
  • To assist in the design, development, and implementation of IT solutions across Havens Hospices network.
  • To manage the procurement, installation, and maintenance of computer hardware and software, AV equipment, mobile devices, and telecoms for Havens Hospices.
  • To undertake six-monthly asset checks of IT equipment, maintaining records and referring any missing items to the Head of Facilities.
