Fundraising Officer

Contract: Full time- 37.5 Hours per week
Location: Fair Havens

We are currently recruiting a Fundraiser to join our established Voluntary Income and Fundraising Team, to develop existing contacts and build new relationships within the local community, inspiring supporters to raise funds,  working with businesses, groups and individuals to maximise income and raise awareness of the charity. Recruitment and management of volunteers.

Candidates will have:

  • Experience of delivering talks and presentations
  • Experience of charity fundraising and or community fundraising – voluntary or paid
  • Enthusiasm and integrity
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to build and maintain good working relationships with people.
  • Excellent organisational, project management skills and attention to detail
  • Creativity, Imagination and innovative attitude towards fundraising
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • A knowledge and understanding of the Fundraising Regulator and Institute of Fundraising Regulations and Guidelines
  • Professional approach to represent Havens Hospices at external events

At Havens Hospices we care for children, young people and adults with complex or incurable conditions. Our specialist Care Teams can support them and their family living throughout illness, death and bereavement, in the comfort of their own home and through our hospice services, Fair Havens, The J’s and Little Havens.

Although you may not be giving direct care to our families, this role will have a direct effect on our care services.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the delivery of community fundraising plans and activities
  • Actively recruit volunteers to assist in the work Havens Hospices following the official Havens Hospices Volunteer process
  • Work as part of a team with fundraising and other colleagues across the hospice to maximise fundraising opportunities including cross selling other fundraising opportunities.
  • Raise money from community fundraising events within a defined geographical area in line with the annual plans and strategy.
  • Evaluate activities, analysing and balancing time – cost ratios to focus effort on the most appropriate fundraising activities with the highest chance of success.
  • Provide reports and information about activities, performance, supporters, and volunteers as necessary and upon request
  • Ensure that accurate and up to date financial and supporter records are maintained and accessible on Raisers Edge (donor database)
  • Ensure that all local community fundraising activities are marketed and supported, working collaboratively with the Marketing & Digital Team
  • Identify opportunities for media and online coverage for local fundraising activities
