Cover Manager

Contract: 22.5 hours/ 3 days (including weekends)
Location: Covering Basildon, Stanford Le Hope, Corringham and Grays

We are looking for a Cover Manager for our Charity Shops in Basildon, Stanford Le Hope, Corringham and Grays.

From unearthing hidden gems from donated goods, maximising your income through Gift Aid and crafting eye catching displays, no day will ever be the same.

Our Charity Shops have been moving with the times. Of course a bargain can still be found and donations welcomed from our neighbours. But there is a lot more to them. They are literally the “shop window” for our wonderful charity, and are often the first contact people will have with the cause. So it’s vital we create a welcoming and trusting atmosphere in the shops, exactly like our hospices.

Ideal candidates will have Retail Management experience, a full driving license and access to a car for work purposes and be looking for an opportunity to make a real difference.

Key responsibilities

  • To manage the Havens Hospice Charity Shops on a relief basis, ensuring an efficient and effective management of staff and volunteers and to maximise the efficiency and profitability of the shop.
  • To play a part in achieving the organisation’s mission by supporting the care services, both with direct financial support and by encouraging a profile in the community.
