Band 6 Nurse

Contract: 37.5 per week
Location: Fair Havens Hospice

We are currently recruiting a Band 6 Nurse to join our established adult care team, to manage and shift lead the in-patient unit, when required, while ensuring the delivery of holistic care to our patients. The successful applicant will be pivotal in delivering exceptional care to our patients and families.

Candidates will have:

  • At least 2 years Palliative Care experience in hospital or community setting Degree level study MIPS or equivalent qualification
  • Current NMC pin number (registered nurse)
  • Intermediate keyboard and IT skills, working with Word, Excel and outlook, powerpoint
  • Excellent customer service

At Havens Hospices we care for children, young people and adults with complex or incurable conditions. Our specialist Care Teams can support them and their family living throughout illness, death and bereavement, in the comfort of their own home and through our hospice services, Fair Havens, The J’s and Little Havens.

Key responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for assessing the needs of patients, implementing and evaluating the care provided.
  • Would manage the IPU patient caseload during a shift, including the management and support of the nursing team.
  • Plan and review care provided to patients on a patient needs basis.
  • Contribute to the planning, delivery and evaluation of interventions and treatments with IPU Advanced nurse practitioner sister and hospice consultant.
