“My role as a Community Fundraiser involves talking to individuals, groups, churches, schools and clubs about the work we do at Little Havens Hospice. This may be giving talks and assemblies or encouraging people to take part in doing some fundraising for us. To support Little Havens alone we must raise £46,000 per week, so I am always humbled at how generous our supporters are.
“I love talking to people about Little Havens, giving talks and tours is something I really enjoy. It’s great to be able to tell people more about the hospice as I find that, especially in my area which is mid and north Essex, people haven’t even heard of Little Havens!
“I work closely with the other fundraising teams so we are often able to share contacts to help each other. I also find it really helpful to be closely connected with the team over at Little Havens. This helps me to be able to fulfil my role with meaning and understanding.
“I’m ‘Making every day count’ for the children and families by ensuring the money comes in to keep Little Havens open. We are helping our families make precious memories. The staff at Little Havens are wonderful and do amazing things. They make special things happen that our children and families will always remember. I am proud to work for an organisation who support families so well at such a difficult time.”
