Havens Hospices is searching for new Trustees to help them take ‘the next step’ for adult hospice care in South East Essex.
Havens Hospices, which includes Fair Havens Hospice, Little Havens Hospice and The J’s Hospice, has started building a new Fair Havens and is seeking new Trustees to be a part this exciting project.
Richard Player, Vice Chair of Trustees at Havens Hospices said,
“The charity needs a new adult hospice to continue caring and supporting individuals with a life limiting illness, and their families. Every month we have to turn away 11 people because we do not have the beds available.
“We now need to look for new Trustees with Fundraising and Marketing or People (HR, Volunteer Services and Training) experience to support the charity’s future mission. Not only will our new Trustee be helping us secure the future of local hospice care, but will also get the opportunity to develop both personally and professionally.”
This is a great opportunity for someone with current or very recent experience in Fundraising and Marketing or People at a senior level. As a Havens Hospices Trustee, responsibilities will be varied, but will include developing strategies as well as committing to regular meetings at the hospices, visiting staff and volunteers and assisting at events to help raise awareness of the charity.
As a volunteer, the Trustee will be given full training, support and any out of pocket expenses throughout their appointment. They will be joining the charity’s other 1,078 volunteers, who through donating their time save the hospices £2.87 million a year allowing the charity to concentrate on caring for babies, children, young people and adults with life-limiting illnesses and their families from across Essex, within the home, in the community and at their hospices.
