Little Havens Hospice are appealing for donations of outdoor lights, illuminated woodland figurines and festive characters to help them transform their gardens into a Winter Wonderland for the children and families who use their services.
Emily Tucker, Community Engagement Officer at Little Havens Hospice explains
“Some of our families will be visiting or staying at Little Havens over the festive period and all the staff always make their stays magical, but this year we wanted to make the environment magical as well. We would really like to create a Winter Wonderland in the gardens at the hospice; however, we need far more lights and festive characters and figurines to create this. So we’re appealing to the local community and local businesses to donate equipment to help us build a magical Christmas garden for every child and family who visits us over December.
“We have already had wonderful donations of lights from both Perrywood in Tiptree and Village Shop in Canewdon, but we still need at least 20 sets of outside LED lights with 400+ bulbs in working order and weatherproof extension leads. We also need illuminated festive characters, creatures and figurines such as reindeers, polar bears, toadstools and candy canes to create a winter woodland and wonderland; if anyone would like to donate a set of lights or a character that would be fantastic and you would be truly ‘making every day count’ for every child using the hospice over Christmas.”
If you would like to donate any lights please bring them to reception at either Little Havens Hospice on Daws Heath Road in Thundersley or Fair Havens Hospice on Second Avenue in Westcliff on Sea by 5pm on Friday 24th November.
