Chris’s Toybox and Bouncy Castle Hire, Leigh on Sea, visited Little Havens Hospice this week to donate alternative Easter Eggs and toys for the children and families who use the hospice.
Chris and Bex Lindsay, owners of Chris’s Toybox and Bouncy Castle Hire, began fundraising for Little Havens Hospice after meeting one of the children, Maci-Louise, who uses Little Havens Hospice and her family when they needed a bouncy castle.

“We met Maci’s Mum, Sophie, when she came in to see if we could provide a bouncy castle last minute as the original company had let them down, we didn’t hesitate in getting them one. We became friends with Sophie after this and after hearing about Maci’s story we were inspired to help Little Havens in fulfilling their promise of ‘making every day count’ for the children and families who use their services.
“We wanted to donate something for Easter, but like Maci who is our inspiration, a lot of the children who are cared for at Little Havens Hospice cannot eat chocolate; so we decided to find an alternative. We found the Playmobil Easter Eggs and hoped donating toy eggs would mean all the children that are staying with Little Havens Hospice over Easter would feel included and special and actually enjoy Easter.
“We would really like to say a massive thank you to all our fantastic customers who have kindly donated toys or ‘adopted’ one of our CloudPets for us to give to the children at Little Havens. Their generosity has meant that along with the alternative Easter eggs we have been able to also donate various toys which will hopefully help the children and their families make lots of happy memories with. We also donated a gift voucher from Rendevous Casino to be used as part of a raffle and a top of the range hoover to Little Havens Hospice as they needed a new one; apparently the staff were thrilled as one of theirs has stopped working.
Claire Wilson, Community Fundraiser at Little Havens Hospices commented,
“We’ve been overwhelmed by the kindness of those who have donated chocolate eggs to our hospices – we are so incredibly grateful. However, we do have children like Maci who are unable to eat the chocolate, so these alternative eggs are fantastic and we are incredibly grateful to Chris’s Toybox and their customers for donating all these toys".
