A fundraising group which raises money for seriously ill children and adults have raised more than £2,500 at a Christmas fun day.
Havens Hospices “Helping Hands” was formed in August 2016 to raise money for Little Havens Hospice for children and Fair Havens Hospice for adults. Havens Hospices provides respite, symptom management and end of life care to seriously ill children and adults across Essex. On Saturday 19th November the group held a Festive Fun Day at Belle Vue Baptist Church in Southchurch.
On the day there was face painting, a Punch and Judy show, choir, belly dancers, raffle and Father Christmas was in his grotto helping to get people in the Christmas spirit. More than £2,600 was raised.
Lorraine Jibb, Chair of Havens Hospices Helping Hands said,
“We would like to thank all the kind individuals and businesses who donated gifts and prizes, the families that attended and all the volunteers who helped to make the day such a success.”
Community Fundraiser at Havens Hospices, Sally Bridger, added,
“The Havens Hospices Helping Hands group works extremely hard all year gathering toys and gifts to be used for a raffle, tombola and other stalls to raise funds. At Havens Hospices we must raise £100,000 to be there for everyone who needs us and this is only possible thanks to our fundraising group and members of the local community who continue to support the hospices. Together, we’re ‘Making every day count’ for those we care for.”
