Local children’s nurse takes on London Marathon for the charity she works for

A local children’s nurse will be taking on the London Marathon in support of the local children’s hospice charity she works for.

Stacey Dennis has worked at Little Havens, a local children’s hospice in Thundersley, for almost three years. On Sunday 21st of April, she will be ticking off a bucket list dream by taking on the London Marathon in support of the charity close to her heart.

Stacey says, “Little Havens is a very special, wonderful place and I am so proud to work there and to meet and care for so many amazing children and their families.”

Running the London Marathon has always been on Stacey’s bucket list since she volunteered at the event by giving out water to runners when she was just 11 years old.

The opportunity of running the London Marathon in support of Little Havens is extra special for Stacey as she knows first-hand the huge difference the charity makes to local families. She continued, “When the marathon becomes difficult and I feel like stopping, I’ll keep running because I know every pound I’ve raised in sponsorship will make such a difference to our families. Running the Marathon is nothing compared to the challenges our children and families face daily.”

“I am so very proud, and a bit terrified, to be running the London marathon, taking part in such an incredible event and hopefully raising lots of money along the way.”

Little Havens provides specialist care and support for babies, children, young people and their families living with complex or incurable conditions from Essex and the surrounding boroughs, so the whole family can get the most from life and make every day count.
