Food around the meal table is an important part of enjoying your stay at Little Havens. You will be asked to complete a ‘Family Catering Needs’ form to help the cooks plan these meals.
Menus are on display in the dining room and breakfast lounge. Every day there will be a meat and a vegetarian option, as well as a selection of soups, sandwiches, salads and jacket potatoes. If a resident child is unable to eat anything from the menu, or does not like anything from the menu, a separate ‘children’s menu’ is available.
Our cooks are happy to meet individual dietary requirements but do need notice of special requests, preferably the day before. To help us avoid waste please do let us know if you will not be eating with us.
Lunch is served at 12:30 Dinner is served at 17:00
We provide cooked meals for resident family members who are part of the child’s normal household or for any other adult who is staying overnight in place of the parent(s)/carer(s). Parents/main carers and siblings, who are not resident at the hospice, but belong to the child’s normal household, are welcome to visit during mealtimes and enjoy a meal as long as another adult is not staying in their place.
Unfortunately, we are not able to offer meals to extended family/friends/other visitors. This is due to practical restrictions rather than financial ones, and so we cannot provide meals in these circumstances even if a donation is offered.
