A local pharmacy in Witham has raised more than £1,000 for children’s hospice care in Essex.
Borno Pharmacy on Newland Street donated 10p for each item they dispensed throughout December, raising a total of £1,087 for Little Havens, a local charity providing palliative and supportive care to children living with complex and incurable conditions throughout the county.
Gemma Robb, Borno Pharmacy’s Media Manager said, “There are 12 branches of the Borno Pharmacy and every branch each year chooses a local charity to donate to. We are a community pharmacy who have a passion for supporting our local community, so this year we chose Little Havens so they can continue to provide specialist care and support to children and their families across Essex.”
Community Fundraiser for Havens Hospices Zoe Jay said, “We are very grateful to the Borno Pharmacy in Witham for choosing to support Little Havens. Little Havens must raise over £40,000 a week to be there for everyone who needs us and this would not be possible without the amazing support of businesses like theirs – they are truly helping us continue to deliver our promise of ‘Making every day count’ for the children and families we care for.”
