Honeybear House Day Nursery in Witham has kindly collected and donated Easter eggs to families using the services of Little Havens in lieu of their annual Easter Bonnet parade. Last Easter, they also donated 75 Easter eggs to the charity.
Jackie Wilson, Nursery Manager said: “Every year we have an Easter bonnet parade but this year the parents can’t attend due to the social distancing rules and so they have joined in by providing Easter eggs instead.
“The Easter bonnet parade is always a yearly highlight and although we are missing having the parents attend, we are still enjoying seeing the bonnets they have made at home. The parents have been very generous in bringing in Easter eggs and helping to support the hospice.”
Zoe Jay, Community Fundraiser from Havens Hospices said: “Thank you so much to everyone at Honeybear House Day Nursery for yet another generous donation. Our hospice care can only exist because of the support and generosity from the community and it so heart-warming to know that our local communities are still thinking of the charity during these tough times. The Easter eggs will definitely bring smiles and joy to the families in our care.”
Havens Hospices includes Fair Havens, The J’s and Little Havens which offers palliative and supportive care to those living with a complex or incurable condition, either within the hospices or in the community. All its care is free of charge but can only continue thanks to the kindness and generosity of its supporters.
Any donation that you can make – whatever the size – will have an immediate impact on local hospice care right now. Small and regular gifts can help plan for future care – a monthly donation of £3 or £5 or playing their Lottery for £1 a week all helps. Visit www.havenshospices.org.uk for more information.
