The Wellness, Shopping and Pamper Event is open at the Rayleigh Methodist Church from 10am to 4pm. Visitors can enjoy reflexology and Indian head massage and even try a mandala art workshop. There will also be a variety of stalls including health and beauty, fashion and accessories, food and art plus a raffle.
Angela Scott, from Rayleigh, is organising the event to raise money for Havens Hospices’ new adult hospice that is being built opposite Priory Park in Southend. The charity now has just £350,000 left to raise for the new Fair Havens Hospice which it plans to open in spring 2020.
Angela said, “As a local businesswoman, I am passionate about supporting other businesses and bringing the community together for a common cause, whilst also enhancing their own wellbeing. Havens Hospices has helped some of my business contacts, friends and their families. Wellbeing and creative therapies are a big part of hospice care as they give patients and their families the opportunity to relax and take their mind off their conditions. Fundraising is so important to allow this support to continue in my community which is why the Wellness Event is raising money for the new Fair Havens Hospice building.”
Havens Hospices will also be at the event to encourage visitors to think about a very important topic that can create a lot of unnecessary stress – writing a Will.
Emma Hamilton, Event Fundraiser for the charity, explained, “Many people don’t want to think about what will happen when they die, so they put off making their Will and this can cause them and their loved ones a lot of anxiety. It’s actually quite easy to do and the peace of mind you get from knowing that your loved ones – and any good causes that you support – will be taken care of in the future can only improve your wellbeing.
“We are very grateful to Angela for organising this event in support of the new Fair Havens Hospice and for giving us the opportunity to talk about this important subject. We’ll be around throughout the day, with information about the new hospice, as well as giving out Gift in Wills leaflets and free herbal tea to help you destress, so please come and say ‘hello’.”
Fair Havens Hospice is part of Havens Hospices which also includes Little Havens Hospice and The J’s Hospice. To find out more about the new hospice building, please click here [http://www.fairhavensforlife.co.uk].
